35 years since the death of Moon Seungkeun
『Moon Seungkeun Noboru Fujino Toru Kuranuki』
AOO is pleased to present a duo exhibition by Moon Seungkeun and Toru Kuranuki.
Seungkeun and Kuranuki were the almost same age and they developed the relationship while participating in some exhibitions, such as the exhibition of Gutai which was the young artists group formed by Jiro Yoshihara as a leader.
Since then, the two artists had been influenced by each other and had established each original style.
Moon Seung-Keun had been suffering from the visceral disease since birth and died young at the age of 34 on April 13th, 1982. He is still missed by a lot of people involved in art and art collectors.
It’s been 35 years since the death of Moon Seungkeun and this is the 10th year since the exhibition “MOON Seung-Keun+YAGI Tadashi: works on paper and sculpture 1973-83 from the two collections” was held at The National Museum of Modern Art, Kyoto in 2007.
At this exhibition, mainly their works in 1960-70 and the freshly-discovered work “soft sculpture” by Noboru Fujino will be exhibited.
