Born in Okayama in 1930. 

Graduated from Waseda University, Faculty of Letter, Arts and Sciences. In the 1950s, Okazaki started to create art works and exhibitited at Yomiuri Independent in 1958. He had his first solo exhibition at Tokyo Gallery. In the same period, he established his own idea ” 御物補遺 – Object Supplement,” and he begun to produce art works called “オブジェクト – Object” based on common things and ordinary shapes. Since then, he has present a lot of unique works with the original idea. Up until now, Okazaki has had a number of solo exhibitions at Kurashiki City Art Museum in 1997, Nagi Museum Of Contemporary Art in 2001, The Museum of Modern Art, Kamakura in 2010, Kitakyushu Municipal Museum of Art in 2016-17, moreover, he has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Japan and overseas.
